What is Emotional Memory?

Emotional Memory is an acting technique, popularised by Konstantin Stanislavski, where an actor uses memories to re-experience emotion.

Emotional Memory is a controversial technique as it was eventually abandoned by Stanislavski who found that relying on true personal emotion was too draining and inconsistent as a technique.

Emotional memory was also a major inspiration for techniques utilised by other practitioners such as Sense Memory and Affective Memory.
