How we produce trustworthy and accurate information
At WorkOnFILM, our purpose is to provide you with the information and resources necessary to become a skilled, motivated and diverse performer, with the goal of building a long lasting career within the entertainment industry.
To do this, we need to ensure that the information we’re providing is accurate, and trustworthy. To do this, we’ve developed this Editorial Policy to provide transparency into how we develop our content and how we ensure we’re providing the best information.
We are committed to the following principles:
Our primary mission at WorkOnFILM is to educate and inspire the next generation of actors. The entertainment industry hasn’t always been the most supportive or inclusive place, it’s our goal to change this.
All of our content is created with the single goal of educating and inspiring by providing the necessary knowledge and resources for your journey into the entertainment industry.
At WorkOnFILM, we understand that what works for one person may not work for another, and for that reason there’s a lot within acting that purely comes down to preference. We want to ensure that the content we produce maintains this diversity of opinion, so you can decide what works best for you.
To do this, we must ensure the information we provide is honest and accurate. Here’s how we do this:
It’s important to us that the content we produce is highly readable and provides transparency on important information such as when it was last updated. To maintain this, we’ve designed our site based on usability, user feedback, content clarity and good design practices.
Here are some things you can find in every blog post to ensure transparency & readability:
From time to time we may recommend a product or service in one of our blog posts. It’s important for us that we’re only recommending the products and services that we truly believe in and have used ourselves (often on a daily basis).
If we’re benefitting financially from a recommendation, for example if we’re working directly with a brand for advertisement, sponsored deals, partnerships or affiliates, this will always be explained within the blog post.
We also recognise that too much display advertising can ruin your user experience. This is why we have chosen not to display ads on our site unless the brand has been thoroughly vetted by ourselves. And when advertisements are displayed, to limit the number of ads per page to ensure you still get a great user experience.
We don’t write content for ourselves, we do it for you. And it’s important to us that we hear from you. There are many ways you can reach out to us and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
